I think their upcoming new releases should probably focus on Daikinee, as they are about to debut, so until they get a decent ammount of releases they won't be as competitive. I'd rather they not have more than one army with only a couple of releases, but rather get one off to a good start before debuting the next.
What am I most interested in? Akkyshan! And I'd love if Akkyshan debuted after Daikinee gets a good start! Though, the fact that we know almost nothing about the Sphinx makes me a little curious there too... but they'll be good guys, and I hate those! |
I agree with you on every point!! Though I want the Akkyshan Elves (I have even gone so far as to promise myself I would not expand into another army until these guys surface.... ) Rackham needs to fill out those Daikinee. |

R have been teasing us with Akkyshan concepts for bloomin' ages now.............. most players I know want this army, so Akkyshan should be focussed on these since it is virtually guaranteed sales (unless the minis suck......... ) _________________ Broken Bayonets: Malaysian Gaming Group:

What sort of releases have the Inquisition received over the past couple years, besides Eschelius?

OK, I wrote this without thinking too carefully about what I was typing.
I don't know that much about the griffin, so I probably should have done my research before typing too much.

Lions, dirz, and griffins are sitting pretty good.
Kelts aren't that bad off, (I don't play them, so don't flame me) they could use some shooting. Cavalry would be neat for them also, but they already have plenty of high mov guys.
Goblins seem pretty balanced also, at least from what I see. They also might want some better ranged options.
Tnb seems like they might be decent after all the stuff planned for them drops. I'm taking a wait and see approach, but I would like to see scouts and not the crappy theme they get that almost gives them scouts.
Middies should be pretty good after the middie elite hits. They are pretty good as it is in my opinion. A higher aim option than the firespitter would be nice.
Wolfen could use some variety in the cheap troop range. Guess thats why rackham gave them 100ap worgs. Also a decently priced and useful mage.
Dev's need a decent faithful, more half elves and more options in the low end range. They are pretty well off at the beatstick slot with flesheaters and tyrants imho. Some more characters would be good also, as it seems everyone uses zeiren the second.
Orcs need a better ranged option. I've played them alot and they seem pretty good, behemoth orcs need alot of stuff however.
Ophids need more options and a nerf lol. They are to nasty. Seriously they need some more characters, cheap options and more humanoids, I want to play a humanoid ophid list lol.
Drunes seem fairly balanced, but some more useful characters seem to be a common complaint. The new faithful seems like a nasty SOB.
Acheron needs some skelly archers or something. A decent faithful would be nice as well.
I got nothing on cynwalls, I haven't played them, don't know the troops and don't have any desire to play them or learn them. (probably bite me in the rear at a tourney)
I think that about covers all the factions that are out at the moment. At least thats my story and I'm sticking to it. _________________

It's interesting to see that at the time of my writing this message there have been 79 votes and the balance between the named options is pretty even.
But no one has suggested a new un-named army.
I wouldn't mind seeing an Ogre alliance (or something like that), but I know that there's a few more of these guys on their way, and I'm more interested in other things getting their focus time first.

My interest in the ogres was raised after reading their fluff in the Cad rulebook! I mean, how can you not love ogres that don't age if they eat the flesh of children!!! An all ogre army might remind me too much of XX, but then, their ogres are very different... _________________

Consider yourself spite-ed.
Really though, I find that adding another wholly unique army now, when there are 2 armies with no models and a number of other armies at the "playable" (loose use of the term) stage is not reasonable.
What I think you can get away with adding is a mix-and-match army along the lines of the alliance of the eagle on SDEN. Except, rather than having unique models, let it be made from other lists. Kind of like themes, but alternate army lists instead. Heck, put them in Cry Havoc as flavour. That is something I'd like to see.
As far as where Rackham should focus it's attention, I think that most of the armies are okay. Though with Sphinx and Akkyshan coming out in the next year or so, they should get Ophids and Daikinee represented to the point of variability before the new armies hit. Ophids are looking googd, and Daikinees should be in line with this, but we won't know until they hit the stores (or forums with stat lines). Nothing worse than hearing what an opponent is playing and knowing the exact composition of the force before you even know the player's name. _________________
